tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5762756769159510362.post1940442739978185077..comments2024-01-26T00:26:07.620-08:00Comments on Brad The Bike Boy: Charging system diagnosis procedureBrad The Bike Boyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07619487993750886929noreply@blogger.comBlogger1125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5762756769159510362.post-39797474841603711772021-02-03T21:44:33.500-08:002021-02-03T21:44:33.500-08:00Hi Brad, thank you for your excellent step by step...Hi Brad, thank you for your excellent step by step diagnostic on the charging system.<br />I have a wonderful ST2 registered new 1997 in NZ.<br />Charging system light indicate issue.<br />Local bike shop swapped out battery regulator and rectifier and I provided new Orem Ducati single phase stator plus the Factory upgraded <br />Washer shim with the extra oil gallery.<br />Bike was re assembled and alternator only produced 20 odd Vac.<br />I have reclaimed bike and stripped down to expose stator and rotor.<br />Both appear in the right position and wiring looks all good.<br />How can I test the stator and or rotor to determine if one is faulty.<br />Shaft and bearing all looks good so I assume it’s spinning as it should .<br />Do the magnetic rotors have any issues...I am assuming a magnets not likely to fail.<br />The two seem to be strongly attracted as you remove the case.<br />Any comments would be very helpful.<br />Marcus from Auckland<br /> Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00392065505290050934noreply@blogger.com
